A forging plant's heat treatment furnace area was accumulating toxic fumes and smoke, creating hazardous working conditions. Existing natural draft was insufficient and workers were reporting respiratory issues.
Designed a forced exhaust system using Aerotech high-temperature bifurcated fans rated for 300°C continuous operation. Canopy hoods over each furnace connected to a common exhaust duct with roof-mounted fans. FRP ducting for corrosion resistance.
Fume concentrations reduced by 92% — well within OSHA PEL limits. Zero respiratory complaints since commissioning. Factory received 5-star safety rating from Maharashtra Labour Department. System handles 80,000 CMH total exhaust.
