A hotel's commercial kitchen was operating under negative pressure due to powerful exhaust fans without adequate makeup air supply. This was causing exhaust backdraft into dining areas and making kitchen doors difficult to open.
Installed Aerotech makeup air handling units supplying tempered fresh air equal to 90% of exhaust volume, maintaining slight negative pressure in the kitchen. Heat recovery from exhaust pre-conditions the incoming fresh air, reducing heating load.
